Rotterdam, 2024 June 27th, The Duits-Nederlandse Handelskamer (DNHK) Sommerfest is always a special spectacle. After an intensive day with calls and meetings about insurance matters, HR matters, contract negotiations etc. I joined the event yesterday evening together with my friend Eric Burnik. For the first time since 2017 the Sommerfest took place on the ship ‘De ss Rotterdam’. This former flagship of the Holland America Line sailed on its maiden voyage from Rotterdam to New York in 1959. ‘De Rotterdam’ has a long and rich history. ‘La Grande Dame’ was built in Rotterdam, departed from Rotterdam and is now back in Rotterdam! An ideal location for Dutch (a.o. Nunner Logistics) and German companies that do business in each other’s countries to exchange ideas in an informal atmosphere and to celebrate successes while we were taken on a journey back in time enjoying culinary delights, nice drinks, good music and surprise acts.
After the welcome speeches by Duits-Nederlandse Handelskamer (DNHK) chair Eva van Pelt and DNHK director Günter Gülker the Sommerfest went into full swing!
